PASADENA HOBBY SHOP Claude and "Boots" Draper- founded in 1950s in Pasadena, Texas. Pasadena Hobby Shop was in the retail and wholesale business of ceramic items and paints as well as classes for these same hobbies. PHS was in business for 40 years in Pasadena. Run by "Boots" Draper until her passing and other family members through the years also worked there: Her children: Claudia Draper-Tabor, John Draper and Sam Draper,and her grandchildren also worked there: Tom Draper, Wendy Tabor and Andrea Tabor

WARREN ELECTRIC COMPANY
WEC was founded in 1919 by Mr and Mrs. G. R. Warren in Sioux City , Iowa. They brought a branch to Texas in 1941 and it was run by J. R. Thompson from 1958 till his passing in 1989 at the age of 83.

J R Thompson's (former) executors ran the business from his death in 1989 until 1992 when J R Thompson's only child -his daughter- Cheryl Thompson-Draper-went to court and gained control of the company from the executors.
1993 Thompson-Draper led Warren (and the subsequent companies below) as COB/CEO/President from that time until the sale of the companies in 2002 and 2003. ******************* WARREN ELECTRIC GROUP Warren Electric Group became the largest --$315 million in sales in 2000-- woman owned & managed business (WBE) #1 in the city of Houston, #3 in Texas and #45 in the USA. Several companies formed the "group of companies" . And in 2000 the stateside companies legally became a company named Warren Electric Group .
WARREN ELECTRIC COMPANY/GROUP WEG focused on the sale and distribution of electrical and automation products to the industrial, commercial and residential markets. One of Many Expos...."manning the booth"! ________________

John Draper was the President of this company- winning the Blue Chip Award and was among the Fastest Growing Companies in Houston.

Warren and Watson family members --1997 ----- WARREN DEL CARIBE (Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic) Purchased in 1984 by J R Thompson and the name changed to Warren Del Caribe. Dom Rep was added by Cheryl Thompson-Draper in 1998.
WARREN ELECTRICAL CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS (Trinidad and Tobago) Purchased in 1998 from ECM of Trinidad David Taylor and Clem Fretes, with a name change to Warren ECM. Sold to Sonapar USA ( division of Sonapar/ France) on 2003.

Cheryl served as VP of the National Association of Electrical Distributors (NAED) with her VP/Regional convention at the same location- the Fairmont Hotel in New Orleans- as her late father-- JR Thompson's --Regional convention when he served NAED in the same posistion many years before. Cheryl was the first woman to be elected and serve as a VP for NAED. ___________________ Thompson-Draper led Warren for 10+ years until the sale of the companies in 2002 and 2003. Warren Electric Group (the north and central Texas locations) were sold to Reynolds Electric in summer of 2002. Warren Electric Group (the remaining stateside locations) were sold to Summit Electric in December 2002. Warren Del Caribe and Warren ECM were sold to Sonapar USA (division of Sonapar France) in March of 2003.

TEXAS STAR MASTERS DANCE STUDIO
Texas Starmasters Dance Studio was founded by Cheryl Thompson- Draper and Julie Vinyard in 1994. Julie was the Artistic Director and taught at the studio from June 1994 until the closing of the studio (due to I-10 construction) in May of 2005.

**************************************** C AND J HOBBY SHOP Founded, run and ultimately sold by Cheryl Thompson and named "C" for her and "J" for her young son John. A hobby shop for plaster, ceramics and wood products. It was located in Spring Branch area of Houston. They were in business for three years.
******************************** THOMPSON TWIRLING ACADEMY
Cheryl Thompson founded this business in Conroe, Texas during her junior year of high school...in 1968-- teaching only on Friday evenings and Saturday all day and Sunday afternoons -every weekend. By the time she sold the business in 1971 she had 250 students from all over the Montgomery and North Harris County areas. Her students were or became the baton twirlers, drum majors and featured twirlers for most of the junior and senior high schools in thoses areas. Cheryl was a certified IBTA (International Baton Twirling Association) teacher and USTA (United State Twirling Association) teacher and judge . In high school Cheryl was the Head Twirler/Captain of the Baton Team and Featured Twirler for Spring Branch High School's Bruin Brigade. Cheryl won many baton twirling awards throughout her career including state and national championships.
